Alternative Provision at Branching Out
Specialist Support in a Neuro-Affirming Environment
Alternative provision at Branching Out
Helping young people who are experiencing challenges that prevent them from reaching their potential within traditional educational settings.
Our Alternative Provision is designed to meet the needs of students who are currently unable to access mainstream school, college, or special educational settings. This service is also accessed by schools as part of their enhanced curriculum, offering students a valuable opportunity for respite from the everyday demands of traditional education.
Research and lived experience continue to show that nature- and animal-based approaches to learning can lead to significant improvements in wellbeing, confidence, emotional regulation, and even school attendance.
A typical session at Branching Out might include:
• Animal care, grooming, and enrichment activities
• Planting and growing vegetables and flowers
• Creative projects such as art, nature crafts, or woodwork
Every activity is thoughtfully designed to build self-esteem, foster trust, and promote personal growth, but no two sessions are the same. Just as every individual is unique, our sessions are entirely student-led and tailored to their interests and needs.

Specialist Support in a Neuro-Affirming Environment
Our team brings together a wealth of experience supporting young people with:
• Sensory processing differences
• Communication and language needs
• Social, emotional, and mental health challenges
Combined with years of animal care and handling experience, this ensures we provide a safe, inclusive, and neuro-affirming environment where young people can feel understood and empowered.
One-to-One Support and a Holistic Approach
We specialise in bespoke one-to-one provision, offering a holistic link between home, education, and supporting agencies. Our approach begins with building trust. Initial sessions often involve parents or carers working alongside our staff to establish a foundation of safety and collaboration.
From there, we focus on identifying your child’s strengths and interests, using our beautiful natural setting and purpose-built facilities to create a space they’ll want to return to, because it feels like their own.
We’d love to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to arrange a visit. Rachel@Branchingout.co.uk
