Specialist Outreach Service
Specialist Support in a Neuro-Affirming Environment
Alternative provision at Branching Out
Helping young people who are experiencing challenges that prevent them from reaching their potential within traditional educational settings.
We understand that for some young people, even leaving the house can feel overwhelming. Our Specialist Outreach Service brings support to where it’s needed most, in the safety and comfort of your own home.
To begin building rapport and trust, our dedicated and highly trained team will visit at an agreed time and date—we’ll never arrive unannounced. And, if it feels right for you, we can even bring along Dexter, our friendly therapy dog, to help ease anxiety and provide a comforting presence.

Meeting Students Where They Are
Some individuals need time to feel safe before they can engage. When a person’s nervous system is in a constant state of fight, flight, or fawn/freeze, learning becomes impossible. They may:
• Feel trapped and seek escape (flight)
• Appear angry or reactive (fight)
• Seem overly compliant to avoid conflict (fawn/freeze)
Our team recognises that emotional safety must come first. We take a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach, meeting each student with patience, empathy, and zero pressure.
Fron Home To Hub – At Their Pace
Once a student begins to feel safe and supported in our company, we gradually explore confidence-building activities. When the time feels right, they may choose to begin visiting a variety of bases, accompanied by a parent or carer if desired.
These sessions are designed to:
• Gently encourage independence
• Explore and understand emotions
• Build trust in supportive adults outside the family
• Offer guidance and encouragement every step of the way
Our goal is simple: to empower each young person, helping them develop the confidence and trust they need to move forward on their own terms.
